Random Idle Drops, Misfires and Battery Drain

Hi all,

I have an issue with random idle drops - sometimes to 100-200RPM and the other night one rotor cut out for no explainable reason then kicked back in almost straight away. It runs fine 99% of the time so it's really strange. It normally also idles at about 1500RPM - I've never been able to fix this through adjusting the TPS, but it's always run fine so I've always ignored it. If I let out the clutch a bit with the brake on and force it to drop below 750RPM - it will then idle happily at 750-800RPM.

The other issue I have is battery drain - my battery is 3 months old and it's already reporting that it needs recharging (Century battery with an indicator on the top) - I have had issues before with the battery draining flat and I've never been able to find the reason as to why, could it be an alternator issue? Or is there anyone who is aware of reasons why the battery would simply drain itself to ground?

New spark plugs and leads are going into the car ASAP - I have new plugs here but I have to order in leads as no one in town keeps anything in stock for my car.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftYYdC9j6p8 I made a youtube video to show what I mean about the idle drop. Hoping that it's not a blown engine - but I figure the people here will know better than me. I also checked the exhaust while it was running, a couple of times I saw what appeared to be a tiny amount of blue smoke, but if I depressed the throttle I didn't get any smoke out the exhaust when I let off, nor did I get any when I had the throttle depressed - for the record I ran it at about 2500RPM for about 20 seconds to check for smoke.

Thank you very much
