Ran out of gas...

Sorry if this has been asked, I searched and couldn't find anything. I ran out of gas earlier this evening, and I was wondering if I might have hurt something. It runs fine now that there's gas in it, but knowing how finicky these cars are about gas, I was just curious.

Well I think the only thing to worry about is debris in the fuel tank that got sucked into the filter.

Check the intank filter for any clogs to be on the safe side.

The pump doesnt look like it sits low enough to fully drain the tank. I wouldnt be worried about shit going into the pump... itd be filtered by the pick up screen and most of it would stay in the left over gasoline.

you should have put a bottle of injector cleaner in BEFORE the new gas...would have helped dissolve any depoists at the bottom of that tank and not mix with your new fuel...drive this next tank or two HARD

You are correct, it was designed to sit above the bottom of the tank so that the sediments would not be picked up, if you were to ever remove a gas tank you would see a lot of shit hanging around in the bottom.

Do not worry about anything, the car was designed NOT to pick up crap in the fuel lines, I doubt anything was hurt.

maybe overheated the fuel pump, but I doubt it really hurt it
