Radiator/Firewall
 

I need the metal pipe that connects the lower Rad. hose to the header core hose(on the firewall) the passenger side of the engine bay, almost directly under the air intake. Its starting to leak for some reason, Any suggestions of where I can get it? Mazdatrix doesnt sell them.

Mazdatrix? IF they don't have it on their site they should still have it if you call them. They have a price list thats about 3 miles long.

Thanks I already ordered it from mazda(be here Wednesday) for 43 dollars total, probably cheaper then what mazdatrix would sell it for!!

Other referrances for other people, part number is FB01-61-220C(thanks NZ) through mazda. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem with the pipe.

so if thats the one on the passenger side of the engine bay, would part no. FB01-61-211C be the drivers side hose for an 88 T2? mine decided to wear out after 19 years for some stupid reason... :) just trying to make sure that i'm going to be ordering the correct part. its the hose that comes from the rear housing just under the oil filter and connects into the firewall. and i'm sorry if this info was posted somewhere else before, couldnt find anything on it specifically or pictures. and it just so happens that this part number on Mazdatrix.com is the only one without a pic :wallbash:

It's not a hose, it's an actual metal pipe that connects between 2 heater hoses.

ah ok, mazdatrix was calling both of those part numbers hoses. if anyone is able to help at all it would be greatly appreciated. i'm looking for the hose that connects from the rear rotor housing which connects just under the oil filter, wraps around the back of the engine and connects into the nipple on the firewall on the drivers side behind the uic/tb. It is approx 1 to 1.25 in. in diameter

Thats the lower heater hose, or something like that. I would be very surprised if you found a used one in good condition, as they are usually in not so good shape.
That part number should be the hose you need. There is a pic of it on mazdatrix's site: http://mazdatrix.com/bhose2.htm Its about 1/3 way down.

could just bend some copper pipe and make ur own

thanks sideways, that was exactly the info that i needed. the pic is of a RUBBER hose and the hose on my car that is leaking is RUBBER :) i know that it connects to a metal pipe so thanks to the others that helped, but the metal tube going thru the firewall is still in good condition

It's just heater hose. I think the size is 5/8". If the actual metal pipe is leaking, a simple tack weld or braze will fix the leak.

Nah all the piping's in good condition. I didnt do the engine rebuild in mine, (it was done shortly before i bought the car), but it looks like that piping was replaced. My guess is that most the hoses are just old, i already had to replace several others. right now i'm just in the process of finding out which ones are original. sadly as of late, the easiest way is finding out which one has to be replaced is by watching them start leaking one after the other. ah well, only the upper and lower rad hoses are left to be replaced now and they're still ok. thanks again for all the help guys
