racingbeat exhaust on T2

i know a lot of people have full RacingBeat exhausts on their rx7. has anyone w/ a turbo-II gotten that exhaust and then gone to the track to test the time? im talking about 1/4 mile here. please post your times if you have them.

JohnL 02-04-02 05:17 PM

With a full racing beat exhaust my 1/4 mile time was around a 14.5, this was with a super powerflow intake and full racing beat exhaust with fcd.

maxim 02-04-02 05:29 PM

they are claiming 59hp to the wheels w/ that exhaust. and the company looks like they are not some honda ricers who claim insane gains on a 4 cyl. with 59rwhp, that's at least 70hp at the crank. and that should make the T2 at least just as fast as the 3rd gen. wouldnt it?

RETed 02-04-02 05:31 PM

Yes.&nbsp The FC's will regularly dyno at 210-230hp at the wheels which is right smack where stock FD's dyno.

Wow!!!

wount you have problems geting the Fuel right or are you talking on uprated Ecu etc?

Also if you fit a Airfilter and Exhaust to a Stock FC wont it Boost Creep? or will the Mk 5 Wastgate handle that amount of flow?

VetteKiller 02-04-02 05:44 PM

yes fuel starvation does occur, you need a larger pump, some sort of fuel control and a manual boost controller at the least in my opinion. Rewiring your pump for a constant 12V is a good idea too.

Hey Maxim, I was looking at the same set up to. I was unsure about there claims until reading further. The reason you gain so much hp is cuz it runs your turbo @ 12psi.:)(you have to have a fcd) I'm still thinking of getting one or making a custom one.

Yes, you're right - the system won't be optimized; an A'PEXi S-AFC will help.&nbsp The engine will run richer across the RPM band.

You can run a reprogrammed ECU, but it'll run those numbers on the stock ECU + FCD.

Correct again - I run a ported 1986-1988 Zenki wastegate.

here is my plan, guys. i am currently looking for a 89-92 t2, however long that's gonna take;) then i will get the racingbeat exhaust, fcd, bov, some kind of intake. what else will i need? do i need a chip or will fcd be enough? i dont feel like tuning the fuel maps manualy with an afc.

of course im getting a turbo timer and some gauges for it as well.

fcturbo2 02-04-02 10:00 PM

I had that set-up in my 87TII but without the BOV. I was using the stock BOVof course..My motor was streetported..Take my words!!..it is fast!!!..
I would stay away from chips though. Id get an S-AFC instead. I know you dont want to use them but i would if i were you. I didnt have it and i think that the reason i blew my motor!..

I would also consider using a pair of GSL-SE injectors for your secondary.

maxim 02-04-02 10:55 PM

well, i suppose i should get an s-afc. i've been thinking about it and i know if i tune the fuel right throughout the entire rpm range it'll make a huge diff. especially on a turbo car. will i still need the fcd if i get a piggy-back?

JOE@FC3S.ORG 02-05-02 01:24 AM

The RB exhaust will simply allow your stock system to boost more due to no restriction. The Larger diameter is very useful for modded cars, but *tricky* for stock cars.

Fuel upgrades like the others mentioned are almost necessary (depending on how brave you are ;-)

RB is had redesigned the entire system, using there new stainless mufflers and should be available soon =) Fortunately, my car was one of the test mules so I got the opportunity to get the tour of the facilities and some pics (including some of the 69? 10A they have). We should have a write-up soon on www.fc3s.org along with some pics and such.

Ted, what cat do you run on your car?

jmseven 02-05-02 04:33 PM

On one the posts, I had my dyno sheet on it.

My best run was 13.94 @ 103 mph, Sears Point, @72 degree

Angel Guard Racing Team 02-05-02 07:53 PM

Get a Jay-Tec exhaust manifold (For t2), turbonetics mark 2 deltagate, hks bov, bigger injectors, To-4 and a cut-off circuit for the secondary injectors(Mazdatrix) and boost it up!!!.
