I beleive the under body is a bit more beefed up on the vert.

Aesop Rock 01-24-04 11:56 PM

as he said, theres a lot more there to support the frame and keep the car from rolling, twisting, all the kinda stuff that the roof was inveted to stop

The front subframe on the verts (engine cradle) has an additional brace on the rear that the exhaust must clear. The brace is basically like the lower control arm bars that you can get for coupes (like Cuscu for example).

yes, and I hate those cross members, getting the exhaust off was a pain on my vert.

But next time I drive it, I'll love 'em again :D

ERAUMAZDA 01-25-04 01:14 PM

Well I am doing a vert conversion and I wanted to put a turbo downpipe.

ERAUMAZDA 01-25-04 01:15 PM

I am doing a turbovert. I didn't think the downpipe would fit because of the cross member

hpram99 01-25-04 05:00 PM

I am too, A custom/fabbed dp is neccessary.

I've got a guy in town that actually replaced my entire exhaust (including muffler) for $45 on my 626. I'm going to have him bend me a dp too.

I used the RB turbo back exhaust system on my conversion and it fit with no problem. It cleared that brace , you just have to take it off to install the downpipe then put the brace back on.
