Racing beat mufflers vs. stock mufflers
 

Would there be any performance difference between the RB mufflers and the stock mufflers? So far I have the bonez superflow and the RB y-pipe. All I'm missing is the 2 mufflers, but i'm short on funds lol... So is there a large performance difference? In other words, would my butt dyno feel the difference? =P

The stock mufflers piping seems to be ok sized, the y pipe on the other hand looks very small at some points, I also got a leak in mine thus I replaced it with the corksport catback.

I felt alittle difference in acceleration, throttle response seems a tad better too. The biggest difference would be header, high flow cat

Ah ic cool. Yea I bought the superflo, but soon discovered that my cat was welded into the y-pipe and everything...so i had to buy the RB y-pipe haha

Do the stock mufflers have a 2" inlet?

7-8 HP. But I doubt you'd feel it. If you're short on funds why'd you get the Y pipe? It's good for almost no HP. You already got most of the potential power from the Bonez, so this wouldn't be a bad stopping point.

Bought the y-pipe cuz i couldn't install the bonez without either buying a stock y-pipe or the RB. Someone welded the cat, precat and y-pipe together on my car. I had no idea when I got it. =(

Oic I didn't read that. But anyhoo we're talking twice the money for half the power compared to the cat. OTOH there aren't any better options for an NA, since you already got the cat. So it's up to you.

The biggest difference between them is going to be sound (how loud and how good it sounds) and longevity. I quite like how a full RB setup sounds, loud enough when you want, quiet when you want, without any tinny sound like you'll often hear from Civics and such. Very smooth sounding.

ahh ic. I'm not a big fan of loud exhaust, probably because of all the shitty civics running around with loud ass metal sounding systems. I'll need to hear the RBs before I dump cash on em. Anyone got a vid? :P

less restriction =s more power so yes there is a performance advantage.

Its all up to you but remember that the RBs sound VERY nice and look sweet too just make sure you get new hangers for the mufflers and make sure they sit flush with the bumper cutouts. Heres a video of me doing some (bad) donuts to give you an idea of the sound:

how is the muffler designed stock vs rb? Im pretty sure Rb muffler is straight through design.

RB is straight through. A full RB system is about the quietest of all the aftermarket exhausts (but louder than stock), but it's not exactly a quiet exhaust. When I come back from long drives (several hours type thing) I'll often have a slight ringing in my ears from the exhaust and wind noise. When I first got my RB setup I wished it was a bit louder, but after living with it for several years I'm extremely happy with it and I think they got the sound just right.

I like my racing beat exhaust too, doesnt attract too much attention from cops either.

Im pretty sure the stock mufflers are more restrictive. The rb mufflers are a lot bigger than the stocks, a lil louder, but probably a lot more free flowing from the design. HP gains? A catback exhaust only does so much, especially without a turbo

They aren't the stock mufflers from the factory. They are some aftermarket brand. When comparing to OE equipment, you'll find RB offers no power gain, not even on a TII. They do have an advantage as they are less expensive than the stock OE mufflers.
