is RA the only maker of teflon encapsulated coolant orings?

i'm wanting to get some teflon encapsulated orings for my rebuild, and i'm wanting to get some quicker shipping so i can have my rebuild done before the end of the week.
does anyone other than RA make these orings?

I used to think that as well, especially because RA uses standard sized o-rings rather than metric and I believe McMaster Carr does too? Can't remember... But I thought RA claimed they did not when questioned, hard to say. Same shit either way.

Yep, McMaster-Carr is SAE, not metric.
It take a little "tugging" to make them fit, but they are CHEAPER than stock!
I use them in all my rebuilds, including all customers engines now.

I've actually been thinking about giving them a shot on an engine some day, maybe the next build, I got OEM for the latest one :)

jacobcartmill 08-07-05 03:58 AM

how much are the OEM ones? i've had great luck with the RA ones... maybe i'll just order them with my atkins order monday instead of the RA stuff.

I've always got my shipping quick with RA or do you mean like next day air etc...? I ordered the oring kit and it was here in like 3 days and same with the apex seals.

jacobcartmill 08-07-05 04:21 PM

my last order was about a month ago from them, and i ordered it on sunday night (technically monday at about 2am) and didnt get it til friday. i'm wanting to put my engine back together wednesday and i dont want to be stuck with my thumb up my ass waiting for parts again.
