Quickie! Easiest way to get at the ECU
 

Ok, whats the easiest way to get at my ECU? I know to pull up the carpet on the passenger side, but how?
(don't want to f up the interior... :D)

remove plastic door sill; remove triagle shaped piece that runs verticle to the right side of the passengers right foot, pull up carpet; remove 10mm bolts holding the cover, there is your ECU. If you plan on doing something with the ECU, you need to remove I think 4 10mm bolts to get it out. If you just want to look at it, then you are preaty bored and should have figured this all out on your own.

Remove door sill plate...4 screws phillips.
Remove kick panel...2 pull out buttons.
Pull back carpet/padding from right corner to console area.
There lies the cover.

lol... thanks Samps... yes, yes I am pretty bored... but I also am planning on checking all of the ECU outputs, I've been having some problems with sensors and etc. lately, so I'm gonna check it out...

RAngerJoe: well, getting at it is damn easy, (there are 6 screws on the door sill, and 3 plugs on the panel) then just pop up the carpet clips (and the carpet will come with it) then undo the 2 10mm bolts at the base of the kickplate, then the 2 10mm nuts at the top (hidden under the dash to some extent... just use an extension...)


Yet another question though (to anyone who has gone through the ECU checking):
Is it okay to remove the ECU from the floor so that I can get access to the pins? (my voltage probe isn't gonna fit in there as it is right now...) Is there anything I need to worry about knocking out/disconnecting accidentally? (other than the plugs in the front...)

No problem disconnecting the ECU and holding it in a position where you can access the pins. Go for it.
