Quick Question - need quick answer

what is the piece on the inside of the lower intake manifold (has 3 vacuum lines coming off of it) on an 87 TII? what does it do? do i need it? can i just put caps on the nipples? used with the BAC valve? all emissions devices (EGR, Air pump, etc) are already removed so.....?

inside of the lower intake manifold....uh there arn't any vac line on the inside of the LIM, though if you are talking about the vacum lines going to the ACV, cap those suckers OFF!!!

Rx72Die4 Feb 12, 2003 09:16 PM

there are 4 lines the run from the inside of the LIM to the UIM just behind the throttle body

BlackRx7 Feb 12, 2003 09:48 PM

well I just looked I my vaccum spider, in my closet :D and they all 3 goto the ACV so I'd assume you can cap them off if your not running one

coo, thank you BlackRX7

No Problem man, just lets bump this up so the real gurus can see this...though I'm sure that thats all it is..

The Valve on the inside of your LIM is the Sub Zero Start Assist. 1 line should go to the resvoir near the wiper motor. This can be fully removed, and you can JB weld a quarter or a nickle to the hole on the manifold when you are done.
