quick question about rebuilding an s5 TII engine

how the heck do U guys pull the engine out of the car ??
special tool needed right? no way possible to get it out by hand, right?
(me has no idea how much the block heights, but even if it was lightweight it would scratch the paint)

umm... i used a rope tied to a tree before i got an engine lift...
make sure you get it out of the tranny first...

nice.
I guess I can use an metal hook that is hanging on my garage.. its and underground garage so I guess that is stuck to the plate. I guess it will hold it. how much does the block height?

eh, i figure a longblock prolly weighs 350 lbs...

I put my engine in as a bare shortblock. It is probably the easiest way but I still used an engine hoist. If you have a very sturdy hook on the ceiling of whatever place you are using that would probably be sufficient. Use a pulley or get a couple friends to help lift it out and then someone to roll the car back after you have it lifted up.
