quick question about the MAF

I've searched for a while and couldent seem to find exactly what I was looking for, although I found talk about it there was no answers..
When I get my engine I'm going to immediatly remove Everything from it before it goes into the car, like Air Pump, ACV, all Emmissions, AC, PS, Block off just about everything.. ect..
I want a open turbo setup, like nothing before the turbo except a air filter, but it's a S4 so it has the big, uglie MAF, Is it possible to switch over to a S5 TII upper intake that has the maf sensor and wire it in to the S4 Wiring Harness and ECU, or am I screwed and have to keep the MAF before the turbo?

uhh... the AFM is in the same place, before the turbo, in S4 and S5 cars.

FC's do not hace a mass airflow sensor (MAF). Technically they have a velocity airflow sensor (VAF) that is usually referred to as an airflow meter (AFM).

Both S4 and S5 have an AFM so I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve. The simple answer to your question is no you shouldn't do it. There's simply no point.

If you want to remove the AFM entirely you'll need to upgrade to an aftermarket programmable ECU that uses a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor instead.

I have argued this point time and time again... I just gave up..

what about putting it after the turbo will that work? You could also switch to a MAP sensor and afermarket engine management

you can put an S5 AFM after the turbo, but I don't think you can do this with an s4.

so I guess his question is can you upgrade to the s5 AFM on an S4 car?

YOu can put an S4 AFM after the turbo also.

Is there really that much of a difference? Any extra HP by putting the MAF later??

If not......don't do it.

There is no extra power from doing this. Dyno verified.
