quick Q on TPS and idle
 
I have 1K on my rebuild TII engine. I haven't re-adjusted the idle or reset the TPS. Could this be a reason why my oil smells more gassy than usual? She idles around 1.5K when warm.

yes. readjust your idle down using the screw and readjust your tps. this shoudl help. not sure about an oil smelling "gassy". do you mean it smells when you change it? or does it smell when you are driving your car? if it smells when you change the oil, have you let the oil pan sit overnight in you garage or wherver to see if it separates out and you get separation between gas and oil?

assuming it would..due to the fact that you are breaking in the engine(rebuild)..seals need to seat..just tossin that in the air..should change oil and filter at 1k anyhow,could have shavings due to everything rubbin together to form a seal..anyone agree with this?

I already changed the oil at about 500 miles per instructions. The oil isn't so gassy (I like saying that) that it resembles premix. It looks really good as a matter of fact. It just has a noticable smell of oil when checking the dipstick.

I basically just wanted an answer.

Something like "Yeah dumbass, you have enough miles on it, re-adjust the TPS and reset the idle."
