quick exhaust question (SEARCHED!!)

ok, so i can not find a true answer to this, despite my searches!

ok, so if i were to get a racing beat header, do i also need the pre-scilencer to get it to bolt up to the stock y-pipe? it just doesnt seem long enough to me! anyone use them?

also, how do you tell if you have a 5/6th port intake or not? i know, im a rotary newb. trying to get better! :dunno:

a fellow virginian! yes, you will need the presilencer to bolt up to the y-pipe (or you can use custom exhaust piping). also, all 2nd gens are 6 port engines. the s4 (86-88) uses exhaust backpressure via the split air pipe and the s5 (89-91) uses the airpump to actuate. if you hae an s4, make sure you get the presilicer with the pick up tube (unless you wanna mod the 6pi system which is REALLY cheap and easy to do, and it works better that the exhaust backpressure system that comes stock). there is a TON of info on questions just like this, probably like once a month someone asks. so dont be suprised if you get plamed for not searching or dont get any response at all.
