A quick changing oil question.
 

Am i supposed to drain the oil cooler when i change my oil? I'm imagining that would be correct. If so does anyone know how big the bolt size is?

no, you normally do not drain the oil cooler, unless you are swapping engines

i dont think there would be anything wrong with it but it isnt nessecary is what he is saying. and also its a huge fuckin bolt and i wouldve had to buy a new size socket or go to the closest town and rent one so it saves me about an hour of time:)

removing the bolt from the oil cooler will not drain anything but the oil cooler lines. Not the cooler.

does removing the oil filler cap and pan drain plug also drain the oil cooler?

No.

No. To drain the oil cooler it needs to be removed. That is why regular oil changes are so highly recommended.

Realistically, the only reason to remove the oil from the cooler is if you had an oil seal go or other major mechanical problem that put large amounts of particulate matter into the oil stream.
