Quick A/C , P/S removal questions.
1st question is when we talk about the oil cooler for the p/s we are talking about the loop of hard line in front of the engine oil cooler correct? and I can remove that correct? also, my a/c compressor is the sanden type and it has one coolant line going up and toward the firewall then across to the passenger side, and one going down and toward the front of the car and it hooks up to the top of the RADIATOR. should i cut/remove this and cap it? or what should i do with it. i have to remove it tho.

The loop of hard line that connects to the power steering pump is the power steering cooling loop. If you removed the power steering pump, you can remove it with out concern. As for the AC line connecting to the radiator, i have no idea for mine did not do that. As long as coolant doesn't leak out i do not see why it couldn't be removed.

ok, so i've got the p/s high pressure lines looped together via some fuel line, a size adapter, and some hose clamps, and the other line capped reasonably well with a bolt and some silicon (we'll see how well that holds up). however i still really need to know what to do with that line that was running from the ac compressor to the top drivers side of the radiator. i don't really have anything to plug it up with and i'm afraid if i leave it open i'm going to have coolant all over the place :( . any suggestions at all?

no, im serious, i just checked it again. the line that connected to the top of the sanden compressor, nearest the passenger side, went down under the compressor, toward the front of the car on the drivers side, right next to the lines that go to the oil cooler, then from under the car if i follow that same line, it does a 90 degree turn, theres some fittings, and then it connects to the upper drivers side corner of the radiator.

<<--- is an idiot... disregard everything i just said. i didn't realize the a/c condensor was that bloody huge. wow, i feel dumb. oh well, no one ever said i was mechanically inclined, or smart for that matter. you'll have to excuse me, before this car i've never actually tried to work on my own cars. oh well, i learn something new every few minutes.

As for the power steering rack, I just "T''d" all the lines (3) together, seems to work fine on my car and the others I've seen done like this. |
oh glory and for the love of whatever god smiles upon me.... it's done. 3 bells of cold, bitter, unforgiving AM... but it's done. ughh

John, was it worth or did you gain anything from removing the P/S and A/C just curious.
