Questions with radiator and V-mount set up

I am wrapping up a V-mount project and have a few questions. My car is '88 tII with stock radiator and cooling system. CX-Racing 19 Row oil cooler and 10-AN fittings/lines.

1.) Is it an okay idea to mount the new oil cooler to the front of the radiator (cold air side)?

2.) Can I eliminate the pressure cap at the T-stat? I want to cut the T-stat neck down and run from the radiator cap to the coolant overflow.

Here is what I'm working with so far. I will post some more once finished with the oil cooler and radiator neck. Sorry for the crappy quality night pics.

Looks good. Where did u get the intercooler and can u just use use any aftermarket radiator for this setup?

It's a 11"x18" core from CX Racing. I've had two intercoolers from them now, and have been very satisfied with both. Also got my AN-10 SS line and fittings from them, and it is good stuff.

And yes, you could do this with an aftermarket radiator, and really, that's how it should be done if you're upping boost our modding at all.I will probably change to a Koyo at some point. This project also went with a rebuild, so funds are a little low at the moment.

Sweet. Thxs for the info. I was planning on going with an fitting for my fuel line. Where are u using AN?

I to am going with are build so I feel ur pain on the cost. Hope to have mine up and going prior to DGRR.

I'd angle the radiator more and put the oil cooler between the radiator and oil cooler. You could also cut a hole in the bumper core and put the oil cooler there. I went with side mount oil coolers on my setup. Placing the oil cooler in the stock location defeats the purpose of having a amount get fresh air to every core, unless you got creative with your duct work. Don't forget to properly duct everything! Else, sandwiching your intercooler and radiator together would have been a better option.

Did u ever finish this setup, if so how did it go?
