but wanna get close... here's THE THING.. my first 86na.. sucked.. poor ext, int, and the engine was about to rebulit... (was $460..) i could not make it pass emission, and damn lakewood towing took it from me.. now, im buying 88 na 125k on it.. i have not looked at the car, but the guy said it has been sitting there for a year.. what is reasonable price for this? and, if it has blown motor, how much do i have to spend to get another one.. what a dubm question... |
200 - 1500$. It all depends how well the car was taken care of, any rebuilds, any repaints etc.

And if the motor is bad, you will spend ~$800 getting a new motor installed if you can do most of the work yourself - otherwise add on the cost of labour $$.
(To everyone reading this '~' means approximately, so I do not care if you got a great deal on your motor, or if you know a friend who did. I am just giving a fairly realistic number for someone to pick up a S4 NA motor and get it installed) |
thanks guys..
i am gonna check the car on thursday.. i will post after that!! wish me luck// |
An engine rebuild with parts and labor is in the $2,000 range.

I rebuilt my engine for 50 cents because I mined my own ore from my back yard and took it to my brother's machine shop where they made me custom apex seals for free. UPS accidentally sent a seal and gasket set to my house so I kept it, and I found some parts on the freeway one day, but I did have to pay my friend 50 cents to use some of his RTV. My uncle is a mechanic for Downing Atlanta so he did all the work at his shop for free, and even added some cool mods. Then I filled it with some oil that my dad had sitting in the garage. I don't know why everybody thinks that a rotary engine costs so much to rebuild! OK, how was that? :D |
hahaha..
and get ahold of atkins rotary for prices on rebuilds, they dont do installs anymore though I believe, and ofcourse, Pineapple Racing is in Portland. www.pineappleracing.com they do new rotor housings, top notch rebuilds, installation. |
