Questions about swapping rear hatch with window wiper

I found the rear glass with wiper and working struts for 125 and want to swap it in. I already found a thread that said it was possible, but it didn't answer my question: How far back is the plug for the wiper that comes out of the hatch strut? It goes into a hole in the interior panel, but I can't tell after that. Also, how hard is it to rig the rear sprayer to work?

No one? There has to be someone thats done this.

dont switch it man just leave it alone. You don't really need it and most peeps prefer it with no wiper anyway. Its a cleaner look. my opinion would be dont change it

the car had no wiper on it before?

if so you will need more than just wiring, you'll need the switch, relays...for the washer you'll need some hoses, the bottle, the pump, wiring..........

Actually, all the wiring is there. I just need a switch with the rear wiper control, and all the rest is on the hatch. As for looking clean, its a lost cause on my car. The paint is so bad it doesn't matter what the rest of the car looks like. Plus I like having something to clean of the rear window in the rain. My main question is on how to get the sprayer to work.

you need the bottle and the pump and the hoses out of a car that came with a wiper, its all located behind your trim in the back of the car.

i use mine as a hatch handle

The other reason I'm doing this is because only half of the rear defroster works on my car and the struts are dead. This one has working struts, and I assume a working defroster.

you can test the defroster with a multi meter......

Whats good, high or low impedance?

classicauto 02-09-06 10:12 AM

no no no - continuity

just run the tester along each strip as close to the side as possible, if there is a break any of the single defrost wires, won't get continuity on that particular one
