Question for thoes who have removed sound retardent under seats
For thoes of you who have removed the sound 'tar' crap. Did you find a series of small >2mm machined holes that lead out of the car on the floor?
What should i use to fill them? I dont have welding equipment and it would be kind of hard to aquire, can i use a thick automotive glue, similar to what i see filling all the seems between pieces of metal on the car? Right now i have only removed the tar on the tranny tunnel and the passenger footwell to behind where the pass seat would be. Ive only found 4 holes, all of which are the same. On the tranny tunnel i just sanded off any bit of tar left, and painted it with a metalic grey paint. I planned on laying a small amount of carpet in both footwells but i dont want to leave these holes exposed to the elements, which intern would also leave small parts of my carpet exposed -Jacob |
You could use JB weld, or the glue stuff that you are talking about (but I don't think that stuff would last a long time). Are there any threads in them? I know that there are 2 threaded holes on top of my trans tunnel, and when I remove the carpet there I am just going to put some bolts in them since they are threaded.

There not threaded, however that could easly be changed. Maby ill just put some neversease on some small bolts and thread them in there, and paint over
