Question: Ignition Breakup??
What will make your car have ignition breakup. I recently saw this video and he said it had ignition breakup, and thats EXACTLY how my car sounds in higher rpms.... Would the timing being off cause this or do i have a weak coil or wires or something.... My plugs, and wires are new so i dont think thats the prob, but i cant get my timing right cause my idle wants to stay above 1200 rpms. soo wat will cause this???
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...62026996&hl=en Here is the Vid of the car that sounds just like mine.... Thanx |
Set your timing so it is correct. The idle issue is another issue.
I would rather have correct timing and a high idle. Than incorrect timing and a good idle. Unless all you do is idle the car :P |
yes i kno i need to set the timing but you cant unless your idle is low, but my idle issue is because of my bac valve so I can fix it.... but will incorrect timing cause ignition breakup?
|
I would like to know also.

And you can set your timing at what ever rpm floats your boat. James |
yeah but the ecu adjusts your timing automaticly after 1000 rpms right? so if you adjust it that high your gonna be incorrect???
|
I think that is where / why you jumper the initial set connector.
Do you have a hayes manual? |
so when u jumper that it wont automaticly adjust your timing???
I checked the haynes manual and it didnt say anything about jumpering the initial set coupler.... |
