a question about solid mounts

ok i just purchased a set of solid alum. motor mounts, but i cant seem to find a place that has solid alum. tranny mounts. i know scalliwag offers a set but his good guy rep is not that impressive, i was wondering considering the stock tranny mounts is ruffly 1"X1.5" can i get away with fabbing my own? or is that a job better left to a pro, im not sure if there is specific tolerances or what nots...

I've been waiting over 3 months for a set of solid motor mounts from him. Buy now, pay now, ship now, at least that's the way I thought it worked, I guess not with him.

Can't help on the tranny mounts, just had to rant.

DO NOT use solid mounts on both the tranny and motor. You will be rewarded with a cracked bellhousing or tranny case if you do. Install a polyurethane tranny mount to go with your solid motor mounts, a little flex is required.

does that work the opposite way, too, as in solid tranny mounts with, say, mazdaspeed motor mounts or polyurethane?
