Question about RX7 Fc turbo 2 Vert and "Eternal Flame" logo on the front bumper
Hello
My european RX7 Fc convertible turbo 2 is very unique: it was built on the end of 1991 (perhaps at the beginning of 1992) but registered on august 1992. So it was one of the last convertible ever built. Also it came from the factory with UC - Crystal White variant colour that i read it's not an available option for the cabriolet Turbo 2 version but i'm sure it came with this colour from the factory because it's written "UC" code on the sticker inside the hood. What i'm asking you is: another unique detail is that the car don't have the common mazda "embossed brand" on the front bumper but it came with the "chromed eternal flame" logo sticked on the front of the bumper. So do you think that this is a mod made by the previous owner or my car is so unique that a small number of FC cabrio came from the factory with a particular color not available on the customer brochure and the 1992 eternal flame logo in substitution of the mazda embossed brand on the front bumper? Thank you. |
Anyone?

no idea, there is no European parts catalog for the FC. we do have the US and Japan though, so its probably not factory.

pretty sure the logo was introduced in 92 so if it was built before that it's probably not factory. Is it the round or diamond eternal flame.

But are you sure replacement bumpers don't have the Mazda embossed logo on them?
FWIW, I've been researching replacement bumper covers for my S5T2 to see what is out there in preparation for painting - trying to decide if I'd be better off repairing all the road rash/chips in the existing bumper cover or buy a new one. Thus far I've found zero aftermarket body parts sources in the USA that offer a front bumper with the embossed Mazda logo. And as far as I can find, the part is no longer available new from Mazda. As for your eternal flame badge, my best guess is that a previous owner put it on, because Mazda didn't start using that logo before '92. |
