Question about new turbo engine

Okay, heres the story. Im just about ready to put drop the turbo engine into the car. Question is should start with a stock turbo and manifold, or would it be ok to start of with a t04 and all the necesary hardware.

I knoe i need to break in the engine and turbo properly as well but just wondering about the posibilties. Cant afford to mess up now.

Thanks,

mike

well, you could start off with the t04, just have to be very careful on boosting. safest way i would think is to start off with the stock setup.

stock!

Break the engine in first...you won't be boosting for a while.

thats what i thougt. i'll go with the stock setup 1st.

Thanks,

mike

Why not beef up the stock turbo?

You can run either, just control your right foot. IF you definitely plan to go with a t04, and you have the money/parts right now, there is no reason to have to swap again later. Put on the new stuff.

good sugestion, (ill keep that in mind). sounds like a nice idea. but i really do want to break the engine in properly.

Thanks,

mike

What turbo is on the side of your engine does not matter in the least. You can break in an engine with an NA header, a stock rx-7 turbo, or a t-88 the same way. IT is not hard. Just pretend you are your mother driving the car...drive it easy. Keep your foot out of it. Stay off boost and below 4k, simple as that.

sounds about right.....but havent been drivin a rx7 for a while, (my be ahh, kinda tempted)

anyways, thanks everyone for the input. I'll make the decision either way soon enough.

Thanks,

mike

Dude listen to RotaryResurrection, either way you have to stay out of boost and in low rpms, so you may aswell just put the T04 on now, instead of stuffing around later on!

Personally I will be running mine in with an N/A exhaust, only because I have it and I havn't decided what turbo I'm going to run yet :)
