Question about the Bonez 2.5" TurboFlo System
 

I was about to order this tonight to put on my stock 88 t2..

My stock cats are clogged and I just want a good replacment.


Few questions though.. will running this system increase boost at all? (would i need to worry about more fuel or fcd?) And does it have a place for the o2 sensor or the pipe that looks like it goes up to the airpump (im not really sure theres some pipe coming off the stock main cat).

The o2 sensor is located on your precat/downpipe not on the main cat. That pipe you're referring to is for the air pump which feeds air into the main cat making it warmup faster. I was actually thinking of ordering that piece myself, but I don't have emmissions here so to hell with it I'm going with the RB system. :D

Well I ordered the Bonez system.. so I'll see if it has a spot on the dp for the o2 sensor.


If it doesnt.. uhm.. I'll make one or something.

I am pretty sure you'll have a spot for the O2 sensor on that Bonez system, so don't worry about it too much. ;)

I was too, looking at the Bonez Turboflo sys. at RX7.com and was wondering if after you get there kit, if you'll need the air pump anymore? They say that the new cat is made to take the high temp. of the engine.

If you have a cat, rule of thumb is that you'll need an airpump. If you don't run the airpump, I believe you'll clog your cat. The 'grade' of the cat and it's ability to withstand higher temps doesn't do anything for having to run airpump or not. It does speak good for the higher than "normal" EGT of the rotary though...you'll want that new cat specifically for that reason. Otherwise, if you have the cat, keep the airpump, IMO.
