+89 and up PD dont leak? The gas smell had started two weeks ago. NO fire yet, but I WANT to get it fix. Has anyone had this problem with the +89?

I open the hood and no smell...but I can smell it when I start the car in the morning...and/or when I go for a really short drive...like around the block (not fully warming it up).

I had just completed rebuild install a few months ago. I had checked all injector components...but all parts were perfect. All new clamps, lines, fuel filter, pump...etc....

Damn, I do not know where to start...the PD, the FPR?????

If you smell gas, you do have a leak, and you really need to find it.
With the key on (to pressurize the lines) and the engine off, trace the lines and fittings. Good luck..

Your car could be different than my 86-87's, but the fuel pump is not running with the key just to on. There is a yellow plug on the r/h strut tower that has to be jumpered with a piece of wire to make the pump run, with the key in the on position. Thats on a 86-88. If thats not true on a 90, maybe someone will pipe in and say it aint so. I'd take the dymanic chamber off also so you can see the primary injectors while they are pressurized.

The plug is green. I had done it in the past to prime the system.

Thanks.

K, can I smack you? No it isn't your PSD, it can't be, they are fitted into the fuel railes and are not knock off ones like those used on the 86-88s. If it is fuel and you do find it than I would like to know as well. My car is more or likely acting the same way, accept for the fact I can't find any real leak. If you do find it PM me and tell me the low down

Can you please explain, "K, can I smack you?". I would like to get that east coast verbalization correct.
