Pulsation Dampener
my PD was leaking so to avoid the car burning i decided to do the banjo bolt fix. i'm going to be getting a new engine this summer and this ones going to go soon anyway. the first problem i'm having is that the idle is all messed up, it will rev up and then go down to like 500 and almost stall but stay on then it revs up again and does the same thing. the other problem is when i'm driving and i'm holding at a certin rpm that tac will start shaking and then the whole car starts bucking really bad and if you let off the gas and then try to acellerate slowly it will start doing it again. whats going on guys? is that from not having the PD???

The PD elimination(i think) should not cause this kind of behavior. Check your TPS and adjust it as neccessary. Also make sure you do not have any vacuum leaks.
what does TPS stand for?
Throttle position sensor. it is on the Throttle body(TB)
you will need a multimeter(prefferably digital) and a flat head screw driver. I believe the Factory service manual(FSM) and the haynes/hayes manuals outline the checking/adjusting proccedures. |
do you or does anyone else have a picture of the TPS cause i'm not sure where it is?
what kind of RX-7 do you have???
it's a 88 se
can a bad TPS cause the car to start bucking?
absolutely.
do you know where i can order a new one?
From mazda at the cost of your anal virginity :(
Shoot, I prolly got like 2 or 3 laying around I can sell you.

You need to test it first to make sure its failed. If so, I will sell you one for $20. Plus shipping.
ok, i was going to test it today but my multi meter needs a new fuse so i'll test it tomorrow and let you know what the deal is.
