Pulling motor, what else should i do?

well my oil pan gasket is dumping oil so i will be pulling my motor soon, i was wondering what else should i do when its pulled? Thinking off doing an omp delete and getting pineapple racing bung plugs, aux ports inserts, and comp motor and tranny mounts. Also will be cleaning up the ground wire on the block in a further attempt to get rid of my 3800 rpm hesitation. Any other things i should do? please dont say put a turbo on it..wayy outta budget for the time being.

You don't have to pull the whole motor just to replace the oil pan gasket...

what a noob i am. how do i go about this then? also its a vert and i remember reading that there is another brace up front somewhere?

I believe there is some extra bracing somewhere under there. Speed is right... You really don't need to pull the engine. Anyway, if you are going to pull it... Clean the engine bay really well and repaint it. Just an idea.

also im sure your going to do this but just incase make sure to label all the wiring prior to pulling out. after its out you might as well tear it down to the keg and clean it up real nice. doesnt take that long and is way easier to do while car is out. replace gaskets (uim, lim,). replace hoses. repair any wiring that may be going bad on a car that is ageing.

port it! and delete all of your emissions! Peripheral port :yum:

Confused as to why your pulling the engine myself, but none the less the eziest way to work on it/ clena things up. The brace is at the rear of the engine were the transsmission and engine bolt up. Take a peek down in there, you can see it clear as day from the pass side looking down the fire wall. You will see it tunning across. $ bolts hold it in. Takes 30 sec to get off. Anyhow. Just pull the engine up, replace gasket, clean everythign that is coverd in oil ect. drop back in.

To do the oil pan gasket.. I have on a couple cars just jacked the engine up by the transmission a little bit and pulled the pan off that way.

It's still a pain in the but though, having the right tools helps a lot.

Don't need to do this if he pulls it the correct way. I think there's four connectors inside the car and five on the driver's side of the engine.

that is true but if he cleans up the motor and engine bay then pulling the harness off the motor he will need to label the plugs.
