Pulling engine question

The TM says to unplug the passanger side harness but doesn't tell me to remove the UIM to unplug the injectors and everything else.

My question is that the harness it still attached to the fire wall and the diagrm is a little vague (at least for me). Is it possible to leave the injectors plugged in and all that jaz and I'm just missing a disconnect point? I would be great if I could pull the engine out with all that stuff hooked up.

Thanks inadvance everyone, elspecially if I'm overlooking something obvious.

Hey thats a really good write up, a lot better then the TM.

Whats a good place to connect my engine crane too on the block?

Indoors, on a smooth cement floor.

pull the shifter... or break tail section

The turbo block has two lifting "hooks" facing the car front right on the engine. Its connected to the solinoid(sp?) rack. On the rear left there is one connected to the UIM. That one has two bolts holding it to the UIM.
I had to pull the engine out from the pass side. My harbourfreight hoist didn't have a long enough arm to reach from the front. Still not all that hard though.

and a big +1 on the ziplocks.

I agree tag it and bag it as you take it off.

Yea I been zip locking for years, I got that same harbor freight crane. I didn't think the uim would be strong enough..

there was a video I saw along time ago of Amemiya pulling an engine out of a red FC he showed how he does it and ( I think ) it took him about 30 minutes to have it out. I has been a long time maybe 4 or 5 years ago.
