Pulleys

Newbie question - sorry if this is really obvious to you guys.

How would getting a RP underdrive power pulley, which underdrives the water pump and alternator by 15%, affect my car's performance? Pros and cons?

Pros: get more power out of the engine to the wheels

Cons: will lose some power made by the alternator(prolly not too noticeable if you don't have a huge stereo system)

alternator will last longer and the car should idle smoother....mine did. However if you don't have an air pump you should invest in the double sheave pulley for the alternator. if not your belt could slip at the water pump and cause it to overheat a bit. Mine did also. just ran warmer than usual. But then i live in TEX-AS where it gets really hot during the summer.

but whats the performance u get from the pulley and is it worth the price..?

Speaking of that. When you change out the main pulley do you have to worry about that plate slipping and crushing one of the internal bearings under the front cover?

Yes. Hold the clutch pedal to the floor and wedge a 2x4 between it and the steering wheel or the seat. This keeps pressure on the bearing.
