Pulled Trailing Wires Off; No Difference. Is This Bad?
I just pulled my trailing wires off my car while it was running , it made NO difference , is this bad?
|
just one thing. why did you do this?
|
Because my car WILL NOT IDLE or start good lol
|
The trailing plugs contribute very little, they just clean up the tail end of the mixture to improve economy and emissions. You shouldn't notice if they're not working.
Next time try to put more than one word in the title... |
lol i will , so they would not contribute to my SHITTY idle?
|
no, i don't run trailing ignition at all and i have no issues.
|
Crappy idles and hard starting is generally due to a car thats in poor tune. Or could be the standard TPS/vacuum leak issue.

As well you will destroy your cats (if you have any) and have a drastic loss in power.

With my old engine I noticed a good loss in power without the trailing connected.

Trailing coils not firing will cause huge amounts of unburned fuel to go in your cats. Cats will heat up and get blocked, thus destroying them. Your rotors are also only being pushed around by one set of plugs as opposed to two sets.
