PS or Manual Steering for Drifting?

i have a manual rack, and a power steering rack. at the moment my car is off the road, and everything is out of the engine bay, all thats left is the block.

i will be putting everything back together very soon here, so now is the time to decide which to use for drifting..:

ive driven a power steering t2 once. but never one with a manual rack..

but i've heard that the manual rack really isnt that bad.

but what im really concerned about is which is better for drifting

i.e. less turns lock to lock, which is more responsive etc..

anyone have any experience with comparing the two?

thanks for your input,Dan. :UNCLESAM:

Ps rack is much more responsive than manual rack. ratio for the manual rack is like 20:1, and for the PS rack its like 15:1.. there might be some decimal points in the ratios, but its close. I would definetly choose the PS rack, weather or not you actually want the power assist.

plus, the they only make steering angle spacers for the PS rack, and the FC doesn't exactly have a lot of steering angle stock...

p/s is less turns to lock and more responsive but passive above 25-30mph so it would need to be bypassed to assist or basically it works like a manual rack at that point. IMO it is easier to control a good p/s car than a manual rack but it really is personal preference and what you can handle, manual racks have a much better responsive feel than p/s systems do.

PS+1

Although many would debate this... ;)

Power steering is the preferred option, since you need to be able to change steering (input) as fast as you can.
The PS gives you faster steering ratio (yes, it's 15:1 versus 20:1), plus the extra help with the power assist.
