Pros & Cons of certain aftermarket exhaust systems

Well, I plan on getting an 88 tII soon and the first mod I plan on doing is the exhaust. I want to know the pros & cons of certain aftermarket cat-backs. Like, Racing Beat vs. HKS Hiper vs. Apexi N1 vs. Borla. Which is better in performance, quality, and sound? I'm looking for a somehwhat loud exhaust like the Apexi N1, but the tips are too big. I want dual exhaust w/ 2"-2.5" inch tips and as deep and loud as the Apexi N1. I could do a custom exhaust but, I don't know how well they perform and how long they last. Please Help!

a cat back isn't going to do much power wise. you would be better off with a downpipe and high flow cat. much bigger difference.

i have an 88 TII also. the 1st thing i did was get the exhaust (RB Full Off Road-Turbo Back System) here's what i think. the tips are small but look cool. gives that sleeper look i think. its not loud at all until you gun it. then it really sounds sweet bro. i mean music to your ears. you can really here the engine growl (sounds very good). unfortunately the 88 TII has that shity fuel cut at 8.6 psi. so if you get this full turbo back exhaust or any for that matter you have to get the fcd and get an intake too trust me. i didnt get the intake right away because all this stuff i read about blowing your engine because it will run lean. dont worry about blowing your engine either because the afm tells the computer to compinsate for all the air going in. so you end up running rich. get a jacob's ignition too (pro pak) and a safc to lean things up a bit down low and richen it up a bit on the high end. i have done all this to mine and the car has really responded well. the plugs show im running rich but better to be rich than lean. look into a 90 turbo and manifold to. oh yeah get an aluminum flywheel. i have the 12 lb one and the accelaration is awsome. oh yeah almost forgot you gonna need a better fuel pump (i got the rp comp. one--good for 500 hp). i know the list just gets bigger and bigger but i just wanted to give another 88 TII owner some input. hope it helps. if you already know all this stuff sorry for boring you......

I'd really REALLY upgrade your fuel system before going with such mods.&nbsp The stock fuel system might be inadequate.&nbsp At the very least, rewire the fuel pump power wire for better voltage.&nbsp A Walbro 255lph fuel pump will give you good fuel for the money at a little over $100.

How loud is the HKS Hiper cat-back? What about w/ an aftermarket intake?
