Well I started today to begin the process of swapping my bad B13 for a good one.

Today I did this

Disconnected fuel, P/S, Wiring Harness from ECU, Removed ECU, Radiator/Fan/Clutch assy, all the little odds and ends except for the oil cooler (cant get the nuts loose)

I plan on removing just the engine and save myself a little time and space in the shop.

I'll keep updating this thread with various pics, if you have suggestions, PM me.

And mods, if I'm posting in the wrong area, plz let me know

nice coolant neck... looks like a leak and a half

so you're removing just the engine?

you mean as opposed to engine and trans?

The honda rotary?

why did you remove the harness/ECU? are you planning to do a turbo swap or something?

felixwankel88 12-29-05 09:59 PM

now for your question, i would suggest 2 ways, both ways i would say pull the engine with the Tranny, you can just unhook the wiring, and unbolt the engine mounts and tranny mounts and pull it out.. second choice, is pull the "long block" off the engine just bring it to a bare block and it will be easier to handle.. now if u want the long method, (no engine lift) strip the engine to a short block and unbolt it from the tranny and lift it out, 2 peeps can easily lift it out i did it t his way on my first engine pull me and my bro i waz 14 and he waz 18.. then u can lift the tranny out itz pretty light... i hope this helps more than the other peeps responces

if you pull the tranny/engine together, you have to remember to take off the shifter and the everything past the header.

a little flaming never hurts, and doesnt bother me

I'm pulling the harness because the motor I bought comes with one and a spare ECU. This also allows me to take many pictures as I go along and disconnect things for other people who might not be able to do it.

and felix, thanks for the input.

While I'm in here

Since my state does NO emissions checks whatsoever, what all can I toss out of the engine bay while I'm under here.

I've hit a stall because I'm still waiting for my motor to be shipped, I payed for it a week or so ago, but the seller's having issues, so I'm being paitient.
