Well it has been a while since ive updated on the skittle, so i just rolled 500 miles today and took a compression test and it came in at Front rotor 95 3 pulses and Rear rotor 100 3 pulses. the engine is running Really good, Great oil pressure, not much blow buy at all, never floods, never dosent start, no smoking, runs strong.. some goodies ive bought/ orderd are KYB struts and RB springs(installed) vand RB cat back waiting to be shipped.. as far as paint it aint gonna happen anytime soon since i got a new money pic(96 subaru imprza) but all and all i think i finnaly built a good engine and the fc is running Great!!!

SonicRaT 08-14-05 03:42 PM

Even if he sold that thing, he couldn't afford paint.

No STi wagons. (I wish....)

ddub 08-14-05 03:51 PM

Oh, could've sworn it was an sti, oh well, wrx wagon is still okay.

And the day you turbo ANYTHING dustin will be amazing. You're too scared of turbo and think it's hard.

SonicRaT 08-14-05 03:52 PM

That, and no $$ = no turbo! :)

sleejay 08-14-05 08:01 PM

you can rebuild in your sleep now cant you dustin ;)

NOPR 08-14-05 10:04 PM

are you worried about leaving it primer for a long time? If its just straight primer it can absorb a bunch of moisture which is bad...

IaMtHeRuThLeSs1 08-14-05 10:32 PM

^see thats what i thought.

From what i understand, the primer does a really good job of sticking to the metal on the car, but doesnt fair well against the elements, thats what the second coat of paint is for...

felixwankel88 08-14-05 10:42 PM

i waz told buy the guy i got this primer off, that it will protect the metal aslong is it is not allpied to rusted metal, to i am led to blelive it will be fine

Jager 08-14-05 10:56 PM

Neat.

beefhole 08-15-05 01:27 AM

No. Primer is fine against the elements like dustin said as long as it's not applied to rust. Then again anything applied to rust is no good.

Spoolerr 08-15-05 08:58 AM

My car is all done in primer (temporarily), besides, when you paint most of that primer will be wet sanded back off. To go over bare metal you just need to use a self etching primer then your sealer/high build primer before paint....

FC3S_nataku 08-15-05 10:55 AM

hey the rebuild sounds like its doing great, i might have to ask you for advice when i rebuild mine :)

-TAL- 08-15-05 11:00 AM

And no, not all primer is fine against the elements.

Some may be fine, i am not sure, but i know there is alot of it used that is only waterproof for 24 (maybe it was 48) hours after it's dried. After that it can absorb moisture like said above.

Houstonderk 08-15-05 11:26 AM

How long did it take before it idled by itself and start easy? I have about 10 miles and it barely start itself after like 5 minutes of starting and doesn't idle yet. Didn't realize i needed to put awhole lot of miles on it since its not a daily driver.
