problems installing universal o2 sensor...

hey guys the wire on the universal o2 sensor is smaller that the one from the oem one. Do i still just cut them and solder them up anyways ?? is there a especific reason also why teh tip of the oxygen sensor seemes burned? i bought it online in www.oxygensensors.com any help?

the o2 sensor on my car has a little tiny wire too... whoever put it on there just used a butt connector to attatch it and it seems to work just fine. so i'd say go for it. odds are that it's just a different amount of insulation on the wires anyway and not much of a difference in thread count inside the wire.

shouldnt really matter too much about the wire size... strand count only matters when you are moving current, which the o2 sensor isnt...

it might look burned cuz they tested it on a flow bench from the factory to make sure it worked... just an idea

You can use heat shrink or just electrical tape, but must shield it from the elements (Water).
