Problems
 

Well, last night I had a bit of the problem with my RX-7. I redlined the car when I went to take off and the car started acting like it was firing on 1 rotor. I stopped and shut the car off and when I popped the hood there was coolant on the inner fender wells and a little on the side of the housings. There was no coolant on the front or on the back of the engine, so I couldn't tell where it was coming from. I couldn't really tell since it was dark but there was no coolant left in the system. The car would crank and crank but wouldn't fire, and it looked like I had some whispy white smoke coming out the exhaust and what smelled like fuel. The oil level is fine, so I'm not quite sure what to think besides blown coolant seal. I'm going to take a compression gauge and spark plug socket with me to check and see if I can tell anything, but if I figure anything else out I'll post. Thanks for the help guys.

If you're seeing coolant spewed about in the engine compartment it is likely a hose, not internal coolant seals. Check the heater hoses, the hoses that attach to the BAC valve and the hoses that connect to the rear of the throttle body. Look for loose clamps and splits in the hoses.

I doubt that the coolant leak is related to the non-start condition. If you had just started the car before you "...redlined the car..." meaning the engine was stone cold, the engine may be flooded. Pull the leading plugs to see if the engine is flooded and if it is, do the de-flooding routine.

Alright, I got a chance to go look at the car and here's what happened.

I found out the coolant had blown out of the coolant passage on top of the rear rotor that normaly feeds to the TB to help heat it up, which I had removed when I did the emissions removal on my car. The cap I had over the nipple blew out and that's where my coolant was coming from. Still not sure as to why the engine flooded so badly, but I took out all 4 spark plugs and cranked the car over. I had a decent amount of fuel blow out of the rear rotor. After I cleaned the plugs and put them back in it fired up on the first crank and now runs fine besides the coolant spewing out of it. I'm going to go fix the leak tomorrow and take it to school to fix a few more things.
