problem with window switch
I am able to rloe the window down with the drivers side, but the passenger side wont. I have replace the switch, I have tried to trace it down with a volt meter, and I am not getting any power to the plug. I have checked all the fuses. I cant seem to figure this out. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any help

i have this problem too, i havn't looked into it as far as you have though. Let me know if you eventualy correct it

The power to the passenger side switch goes through the driver's also. Take the driver's side switch apart, and clean the carbon buildup off the brass pieces, can't think of what they are exactly called right now. Plug it back in and watch the window work again.

These pictures aren't real clear, but you can see the carbon buildup, and what needs cleaning. Use a fine grit sandpaper, and contact cleaner.

I had icemark rebuild my window switches for me. He only does s4's tho. You can buy s4 switches tho and they will work in place of s5's.

It is just the carbon build up. The switches (if you look at the apart) are rather simple in concept. The cords attach to metal prongs and every time you press the button you are just connecting the different prongs w/ a little connector rod. To be honest. You dont even need the switch. Just the prongs. The pic that mombo posted shows everything. Just use something to clean the prongs and you should be all in. I used contact cleaner and steel wool.

I have had problems with just about every switch in my car and have replaced some of them twice. My passenger door came with a toggle switch that I replaced, the window went down but not back up. The driver's door switch wouldn't work either for the passenger side. I bought another passwenger door switch and cleaned the contact points on the driver's door switch and now they all work.

I took the drivers side switch out, took it apart, cleaned it and BAM it works like a charm. THANKS FOR THE HELP, Eric
