Problem with rear shock install
I'm having this problem with the old shock/spring assembly. I have it out and I just need the spring seat, etc off the top to put on the new shock and spring, but I can't get the nut and washer off. I have the spring compressed to releave the pressure off the spring seat but when I turn the nut, the rod in the old shock rotates as well. Any ideas how to get this apart?

Impact gun :).
Are you replacing the rear shock? If you don't care about your stock rear shocks, you can clamp vice grips around the shaft to keep it from turning. Dale |
already tried the vice grips, it couldn't keep a good enough grip :/

Take a nut cracker to it... Break that beotch off the bolt, and get a new nut.
Its rough, but its a great cheap tool to have around working on FC's. I'd never have gotten my exhaust apart without it. |
impact gun is the only way to get it off if its spining freely
