Is the AFM plugged in? If not, the the car will start, rev up then immediately die.

sorry but no need in the smart comment

gingles Nov 13, 2006 09:21 PM

oh yea....it is plugged in...but i have no air filter in the box and the top of the box is off...but thats not gonna do anything....is there anything else that will make it do that like the vacuum lines?

Akota Nov 13, 2006 09:49 PM

I wasn't trying to give you a smart comment. I was saying the FAQ is actually worthwhile on this board. I ignored it too, then I realized it has alot of the info you need to know. Alot of the abreviations and such. Just check it out bro, relax.

1. We don't have a MAF. We have AFM's.

2. Does it start and run for about 2-3 seconds then die?

Aaron Cake Nov 14, 2006 08:53 AM

Could also be a cracked TID. You are looking at either a bad AFM or a big air leak most likely.

afm and maf are the same to me...lol....but yea...it starts...revs up to 4g then dies....within 5 seconds of turning the key

So just why won't you write back and state whether or not you checked to see if the AFM is/is not plugged in?

Your rude and inconsiderate and undeserving of any help whatsoever. Read the FSM.
