Primary injector air bleed confusion. ahh lol
Right now on my RE, I have the primary injector air bleed going to the intake between the turbo and the bov. My BOV has got a lot quieter because now the pressure on the intake on sudden closed throttle is being forced into the primary injector air bleeds. ( I can hear the wooshing) My idle has greatly been helped from running this vac line however. I feel like I am missing something? Maybe the stock ecu closed and opened some valves or something?
Any ideas? Thanks ~Tweak |
I don't know the RE manifold, but I suggest your run the air bleed in a way as close to factory as possible, whatever that may be. The s4 and s5 turbo intake manifolds have a smaller nipple on the back of the UIM.

Ok, where does that nipple on the stock manifold do? lol does it go in front of the throttle body plates?
|
actually, it does. On my 88 T2 manifold there are 3 nipples on the back of the UIM. The top is for the injector air bleed, the larger middle one is for the OMP air bleed spider, and the bottom is a vacuum/boost source.

Ok, so does that top port get its source from in front of the throttle body plates?
Thank you for your time. :) ~Tweak |
My RE had all the vac lines in tact when I bought it. The line for the air bleeds is literally right above itself on the UIM. It is in that passageway that runs to the front of the motor. That larger.... I *BELIEVE* 8mm vac line conected the to the factory crossover pipe (charge pipe before the intercooler) I'm also using that *chamber* to feed my pressure chamber for the twins as I believe the factory did as well.
https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1220329437 You can see it there as the closest one to you on the UIM. It's not plugged in yet. Yes I did pull the nipple and tap it for 1/16" and use a stainless steel barbed nipple. Yes I am that guy. https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1220329437 There's the money shot. That bottom nipple has since been replaced. But it shows how the line is routed |
