The price is right?

As some of you may know I'm trying to buy an unmolested, low mileage, beautiful, FC. I had one in mind but the seller hasn't responded for days, my guess is he either got cold feet or sold it, but to the point.

Price $5,500
Body Style Hatchback
Mileage 61,161
Exterior Color Burgundy
Interior Color Grey
Engine Rotary Engine
Transmission Manual
Drive Type 2 wheel drive
Doors Two Door
VIN JM1FC3318J0602248

88 RX-7 GXL, Claret Mica (Maroon), 61K orig. miles, Immaculate, AC, CC, PW, PDL, p/mirr, sunroof, fact. alarm, 1 family, comp. maint. history. Limited slip differential, original window sticker. Car purchased new in FL.

Air Conditioning; Alloy Wheels; Cruise Control; Rear Window Defroster; AM/FM Stereo Cassette; Power Door Locks; Power Mirrors; Power Windows; Power Steering; Sunroof/Moonroof; Tinted Glass; Tilt Wheel;

It's damn close to me too (less than 200 miles) but that price doesn't sit well with me, sure it's low mileage but it's also just a plain GXL in great condition.

So wanted to know what prices you guys would pay for this car, personally unless it can fly $4,000 is what I'd be willing to spare, and thats assuming everything really is in good condition.

You guys really need to stick to the price guides.
Inflated prices are just plain dumb.

For a Turbo II, I can see people paying that kinda prices, but for a non-turbo it's just plain ludicrous.

no one should ever pay more than 2000 for an S4 N/A. and never more than 3000 for a S5 N/A. A nice S4 turbo II should be well under 4k, and an S5 T2 shouldnt be more than 6.

I'd pay $3500

I'd pay 1500-2k

For $4,800 I bought my 10AE that's nothing short of flawless. Only 80,000 miles too.

Hold out for a better deal

I paid 2500 for my first vert an 88 with everything working only a slightly damaged top. I just recently bought a 91 vert, which is now turbo and I dont care what KBB says, I wont sell it for less than $7k

It's a lot easier to fetch those high prices with people who are not on the forums.

I will say that 4500 would be a fair price, due to the low miles, if true. However it is a s4, but ut is a gxl and those were top of the line models, other than the t2. I suppose that if it were a car that you absolutely wanted and could not find a better deal, jump on it! But theres always that chance that you will find the same car for a better bargain.

I have a 91 brave blue vert that is a real beauty, and i really love this car more than any other 7 I have owned.

But, sadly it needs a rebuild. So i was prepared to do the 3500 rebuild, when I was just about to do this, I thought I better look once more for perhaps a better bargain.

And thats what happened. I picked up this 90 vert with new top, rebuild with 22k miles, and very clean as you can see. All for 2000 dollars. Now i know this may seem strange to most, why get another whole car? Well, I feel that this car was worth more than what was being asked, plus I saved 1500 on the rebuild.

My point is this. If you think that the car is worth it to you, go for it. Especially if your budget will alllow. I know that if i would not have bought this car, I would have subsequently been kicking myself in the ass. HOpe you enjoy the pics. And I hope you enjoy your 7. Wichever one you buy. Ahhhhhh, the beauty of choosing.
