pressure plate bolt tightening sequence?
Can someone tell me or show me the bolt tightening sequence when bolting up the pressure plate and clutch to the flywheel. I can't find my Chilton's and the shop manuals online don't seem to provide them.
Thanks, Christopher |
Tighten all finger tight, slip in cluch alignment tool and center disk, tighten bolts to torque values over several steps in a crisscross fashion.

Thank you very much!

I put in the clutch alignment tool first then put the PP on. Worked good for me. The general rule for tightening anything is screw the bolts/screws/whatever with your fingers, then go into a cross pattern.

Most clutch alinment tools have more play & flex them your input shaft.
After you start to bolt down the pressure plate, look carefully through the clutch spline to the pilot bearing seal to verify it's exactally centered. I had to remount my clutch twice before I had it straight enough to fit together. http://208.62.166.66:82/guest/pics/9...l tranny64.JPG |
I didn't check mine because I'm retarded but I'm putting in a new tranny this weekend anways, good time to do it.
