power window interchange

I have a s4 gxl I'm working on. Has a s5 body/dash harness and motor swap. Doors are s4 still and power. S5 body harness has power window plugs also. Do these interchange? I tried to find a thread but nothing particular to this other than the driver side plugs right in and passenger is different? Is this true? Can anybody clear this up?? Much appreciated.

Bump

P/w regulators are the same for all coupes 86-91. As are the plugs.

Not sure about the converts.

Forgot to put driver side and passenger side REGULATORS!!!!!

Don't interchange.

try to plug it in and see if it fits??

Passanger did not plug in. Plugs are different. I'm not by the car atm to see if driver side plugs in.

There are similar plugs in that area. I know this because I installed the regulator, buttoned everything up, attach the battery and power window keeps rolling up when door is open, but stops when door was closed. Then I press the pw switch and door light turns on!????? Hmmmm. I eventually figured it out.

So double triple check the wiring plugs make sure it's correct????!!!!

These are the window plugs. The door(s4) on the right. The harness(s5) on left. 7 wires, 4 of which do color match. Right? I'be never messed with this crap. I have manual on all my cars....

you'll have to repin the wiring, the s5 doors usually had a speaker installed where most s4 do not.

Ok, I figured. Is it true that the passanger window will not work if driver side isn't hooked up? I read that somewhere on here.

i think thats right. power goes to the drivers side switch first, as both switches are in that circuit.

there is also one other little S5 quirk, and that is if the car doesn't have power windows it doesn't have the power wire for the windows in the harness.

Ok, cool. Ya, car came stock with power windows. New harness came from a car with power windows also. So I'll check it out in a bit.
