power window help/advice

hey all,

i just wanted to confirm which parts i need to get to resolve my problem. basically on my passenger side window, down is smooth but up has a really difficult time. i looks like it's "walking" or rocking up the track. i grabbed a rubber track from another car thinking that the original one was snagged, broke or old/crusty and holding the window. i replaced the original one with the newer one and yep, the old rubber track along the door handle side (right where the door lock mechanism is) was all ripped up. it worked for a little bit, both up and down were smooth. now it's back to the same thing. do you think it's the internals? if so which part do you think or all of it? i don't see me having to replace the motor because that looks and sounds fine and both up and down speeds for both windows are the same.

when the window does get stuck coming up i have to apply a little outward and upward pressure on the lower right corner (if you were sitting inside). i can move the window itself a little up and then it'll finish the job itself. i can crack the window open a little to let air in and so forth but anything lower then .. i'd say 3-4" and it'll get stuck coming up.

thanks all.

could be that the window or the tracks has a loose bolt.

The tracks rarely give trouble.
Usually it's the center steel & plastic carriage.
It needs to be cleaned & greased every 10 years or so.
You should also grease the plastic gear tape.

The other main wear point is the switch contacts.
When they get old, worn & dirty, they build resistance, so the motor doesn’t see full voltage.

Now that we have cold weather, all kinds of problems are gonna come up regarding windows. Mine sometimes make a grinding/crunching noise, but only going down.

I suppose some kind of lube would be good on the window guides, not sure what tho.

My driver-side door panel has never been on my car since I've owned it because of the window. Mine slides down okay sometimes, but makes loud popping noises when I try to move it up. I have to push it up by hand.

^^
There is what mazda calls Pearl drive in the windows. There is a cheap easy fix for it. I don't know the part # but if you call mazda they will tell you. It is sort of like a little bearing, with all platic parts.
The local mazda guy was saying that if your window is maing noises (click, click, click) that it probably is the pearl drive.
Unfortunatly for me, the cable snapped and the window is done
