Power loss at random times

I have this problem with my 87 NA.... sometimes im just driving along crusing and the power just drops and then kicks back in. Then at other times im acclerating hard and the power drops also and then kicks back in, but during this the rpms dont drop they remain at where they were before the power loss. I changed the spark plugs... even though they have been replaced last summer. Last summer I also replaced the wires and fuel filter. I also just swapped fuel pumps with my parts car and got a new streamer for it. Do you know have any ideas?

BTW, it does not have to be above 3.8k rpms for this to happend. Very rarly, but does happend is at idle rpms drope like car is going to die then pick back up. This probably is the same problem.

Intermittent stuff like that is usually electrical in nature. That's where I'd start.

How hard/long does it cut out. Go nuts with your description. More info. is always better than not enough. :)

check any connections going to the fuel pump, fuel injectors, and ignition.

it happends at almost any time... under hard accleration, just crusing... usually gets better when car is warmed up and have revved it high a lot. On cold engine it can be worse. The power just cuts out for a tiny bit like a second or 2 then kicks in. Could an intake leak be causing this? When i took off my intake manifold the gasket got ripped so i put silicone on it and maybe that part is leaking? Would it be causing this kind of effect? Or a vaccum leak maybe?

it could be a number of things. try testing the fuel pump, checking cats, or any vacume leaks

In my first post I said that I replaced the fuel pump and the streamer. I dont have any cats so that cant be it.
