Power FC in 87 TII.

I saw this post from a while back of a user selling this FC under this configuration.

""" post below""

Would this configuration actually work on an s4 FC? Would the stock harness plug directly to the OBDI connector? I searched under the POWER FC threads but couldnt find my answer.

Sec gen rx7s are not OBD anything.(more like OMG..BBQ..FPD Fire!..LOL..)
But if that PFC patch harness is S4 Compatable/plug and play then ya it should work.
Banzai Racing makes harnesses for that ECU.
I can't tell you if that particular one will work though as I am a Haltech guy.
So I stand with IF it ran an S4 TII then it should run yours.
S5 would need a different Patch harness.

It's an unusual setup in that it's using a Honda PowerFC allegedly for an RX7? The question is, what motor did it actually have in it? While I suppose it may be possible that some random 4 cylinder through a number of various hackjobs would run a rotary, I don't imagine it to be ideal.

Banzai's adapters for the S4 would be a much, much wiser and thoroughly tested venture.

No, it will not work. That is a powerFC for a Honda b16 engine, not a powerFC for an (FC) RX7. Each powerFC is made specifically for one specific type of engine. This is a good thing because it means that the units are plug and play, and r&d has been done to make the most of features for a specific car.

Second generation RX7's do not have any OBD, and do not have an OBD port. They have a unique diagnostic port to test a limited set of items. That's it.

Honda, Mazda, Toyota, etc all use similar connectors, that does not mean that the ECU's are interchangeable.

The PFC is not a universal EMS system.

to chime in, I ran a 3rd gen Power FC with Banzai's connector and it worked incredibly well. That's the route I'd suggest

Thanks for all this.. Yeah that's why it seemed odd to me that someone would be selling a Honda PFC here.
