lets hear more....

It cracks me up that modern cars are finally starting to implement some of the features that are in our old FC's. (I think I saw a new BMW with dynamic supercharging. Not sure though.)

Dynamic Supercharging, Varible Dynamic Intake, 6-port induction, Dynamic Tracking Suspension System, Twin Scroll Turbo...

More dynamic = more better.

Notice the passenger side rear side marker has a little lip or roof over it?
This is to keep gas spilling from filling the tank from hitting the plastic lense.
The opposite, driver's side does not have this little roof.

Notice all the Turbo II hoods does not center the hood scoop?

I made the mistake of asking about that back in my n00b days, bad call. :Kill1:

I like the front brake cooling ducts, a feature not found on many cars in it's price range. Also there's those beautiful aluminum control arms up front. I like the fact that it's got probably the biggest car prodction oil cooler ever.

I like the IMSA racing history where it was the champ, and the fact tha Mazda won Le Mans the year my car was made.

-Rotary Engine licensed then rejected by all major Japanese car manufacturers
-Rotary design intended for motorcycles
-Optional rear seats that are architected for little people/infants.

*Facts from the top of my head not 100% sure if I remember right.

In it's day's of manufacture, the FC rear hatch was the Largest piece of automotive glass produced.

the rotary gives an unmistakable exhaust note.

-Needs more oil than gas.
-First production car to come stock with tmic
-Everyone hates on it except us nutts.
-I dont know if anyone has noticed but there are other cars made in the early 90's that were made to look kinda like the 7.
-Designed for racing

C-Murder 01-21-06 04:34 AM

awful cheap plastic interior, particularly on the S4's

Healing 01-21-06 04:39 AM

-Flash to pass lenses? Any other car use this?
-Vehicle speed sensing power steering seems pretty unique (for S4's); not sure what other cars use it...
-One of the most spacious engine bays ever concieved of?

There's nothing unique about the FC's overall styling man, especially the s4's. An FC is a blatant blend of a Camaro and a Porsche 944. Now the FTP lenses are kinda unique, but that was the FC's styling gimmick--just like the 300zx had headlights that kinda poked out when they were down.

Never noticed this until this summer, i thought someone had put an s5 rear moulding on my passenger side of my s4. thats cool.

My contribution:
The wind blocker on the verts was a Mazda invention...now commonly used on most verts.......forget where I read that.

Actually I would say that the FC was more of blatant rip-off of the Porsche 928

bigdv519 01-21-06 10:16 AM

Enkei spare.

philiptompkins 01-21-06 10:18 AM

bacek 01-21-06 01:47 PM

I don't really see a Camaro when I look at an FC... maybe it's just me.

i dont know where your from, but here in cali, fc's are very popular cars, and everytime i go somewhere in mine, i get tons of people asking a million questions...... and most people fear anything w/ a rotary motor in it!

MattB 01-21-06 02:43 PM

they are scared of it cause its different...and they have reason to be scared :jump:

zOMG~~~! SO TRUE!!!

Alex6969 01-21-06 04:18 PM

i don't have the Enkie spare lol either i was ripped off or 86's didn't have one.

bl0d 01-21-06 05:52 PM

I've got a compact spare :(

I've had a few porsche comments since i bought the car, and i think they're right...take a look at an '85 Porsche 924 sometime.

When did mazda start using the variable intake for the last 2 ports? because Toyota used a similar setup called TVis on the first generation MR2's ('85-89 US).

Now to add to the list...

It's the least expensive car i can think of that had adjustable suspension
