possible to use momentary switches for sunroof?

my gtu didnt come with the switches or rearview mirror and light assembly so i wa sthinking that i could use the rearview mirror from my s4 with no sunroof and install a 2 or 3way momentary rocker type switch to operate the sunroof is this possible?

A momentary switch will work fine, but I strongly suggest you use them to control two relays, which in turn will open/close the sunroof.

Look at the FSM's electrical section for the wiring. They run the current through the factory switch; if you use momentary switches without the relays, you'll burn them out. Also, don't forget fused circuit protection (I think the current rating is 15 AMPs) and 16 or 14 gauge automotive wire for power.

cheap is finding someone who's parting a car out in the for sale section and giving them like $20 and shipping for the stupid assembly. If you rig a switch for the sun roof you are likely going to burn out the relays for it and that kinda thing isn't talked about so you'd be all alone on how to replace them cause we have never had to replace ours
