Possible pulley problem
While my engine is running I can hear kind of slighty screetching noise. It is repetative with the turning of the pullies and it sounds like one of them is scraping something. It is similar to the sound of a loose belt but it sounds more like metal to metal. I need to first find out which pulley it is I suppose. Once I do that do I need to replace the pulley or does something just need to be tightened? Is there anyone out there in rotary land who has had any experience with a problem such as this?

Could be your bearings in the alt or air pump, or the water pump...

im new to the rx7 forum but if you tell me what pully it is i have tons of extras and could send one to you if you paid shipping, my 91 sounded like that and it was the power steering idler pully

I think wayne is right, a metal to metal sound in the pullies area is probable a worn out bearing,
or it might be a misaligned pully, but that would be pretty obvious... |
