Port the S5 turbo?
Alright, I have a S4 turbo and ported the wastegate... the turbo is actually "messed up". I purchased a S5 turbo. I know that the S5 turbo's wastegate is bigger. I was just curious if I should port the S5 turbo? -> having these A/F mods: 720cc injectors all around, cone filter, and Racing Beat REV-TII exhaust.

You can open the S5s dual wastegate is already a big improvement from the S4s.
BTW you did get the S5 manifold I hope, your S5 turbo won`t fit on the S4 manifold. |
Yes, I did get the S5 manifold with it. I know people port the S4 wastegates because the are tiny. I was just wondering if anyone recommended porting the S5 wastegate.

i was gonig to but i looked at it and it doesn't appear there is much material there to remove. i think the results would be negligible. probably have to get fancy turbu manifold and wastegate.

Actually you can take a lot of material out of the short port. With the long port you can really only open up the opening a little bit but most of the passage you can't reach.
You might as well do it. Depending on other mods, even S5 turbos can suffer from boost creep. |
